iam kinda new to this i have started using kali linux on my laptop in vmware workstation 10 , it all works well but i researched a few times about the wifi connection in vmware people have said to me i need an external wifi adapter with the correct chipset.
however when kali boots up in vm workstation 10 it says ''USB device connected'' thats my realtek internal wifi adapter so do i still need an external one??
i ask because in aircrack-ng suite it can be put into monitor mode with ''airmon-ng start wlan0''
but when i type ifconfig it doesent show me any inet addr in fact it isnt even there
whats going on ??
iam extremely new to this please be patient with iam a bit of a slow learner.
any help would be appreciated

You will need an external wireless card, if you want to hack wifi. Your internal wireless adapter is routed through eth0 to your VM.
