its cuz you didnt give it that much of memory that it should have....

Those specs should be plenty, mine has 2 cores and 2 gb and it runs great for those specs. What are your computer's specs?
Try giving it only 2 processors. It may seem weird but if you use more processors than what your PC has than you will run into it having to emulate said processors.

Try a lighter desktop environment, like XFCE or LXDE. Should free up some system resources.
