This forum has a lot of useful guides on Linux basics, but I am terrible at learning just by reading. I need to see or actually do something in order to learn it. I tried looking around youtube but a majority of ones I found are either incomplete or focused on specific hack tools.

i suggest taking a course in Linux essentials from Cisco for example. www.netacad.com
Also one thing i advice is having a look around www.edx.org
there's alot of awesome courses online to do and learn and the best part is, they are all for free and you only have to pay in order to receive a certificate.
I learned alot on there :) (It's university professors that give these courses from f.e. Harvard, ...)
