Forum Thread: Exploits and Payloads?

Hi guys. Normally when i would use a payload i would've created an encrypted executable with msfvenom or the likes. Then find a way to get it on target system.

However, i was taking more time messing with good old metasploit, and started paying attention to exploits in the OS or applications it has, and my question is this:

If I identify an exploit that works with a particular server or client, how can i get a meterpreter session running?

Just trying to clear this up...

Simply use a meterpreter payload.

Doing some reading on it and what i get is that this eliminates the need of Social Engineering or physical access right?

Possibly, but with modern OS's, you will probably still need to do a bit of social engineering.
