Forum Thread: Gaining Access to a File That Requires Administrative Properties in Windows

One time, during a pentest, I got access to a Low-priv user on windows, and found the "unattend" file on the system. But when I went to open it, it returned the message "permission denied". It wasn't the read-permission, because when I tried to change the file permissions, the same message popped up, so it must be that I need administrative privileges to open the file. After that, I needed to find other way to escalate privileges, which took me a long time. Is there any way I can open files that require Administrative Properties without finding another way or getting administrative properties first?
