Hello World & Hacking Lab

Hey everyone ! My name is sned, I read a lot of article on Nullbyte about hacking that I find really useful.

I have just some question about all those hacking stuff.

What is the best way to learn hacking ?

I thought about making a Lab with

• Window xp with firewall and without firewall
• Some Unix machine
• And metasploitable 2 to learn some metasploit basic

But what is metasploit ? Is it a exploit database ?
