i would like to know the step by step procedure of the session hijacking for Facebook and gmail.
help will be kindly appreciated.

Session hijacking only works with some websites.

Things like Facebook, Gmail, Twitter, etc. all run their websites through SSL to make sure that hackers cannot sniff cookies from clients. There are ways around SSL but once again, you are asking to sniff high security websites.

If I were you I would check out OTW's Hack Like a Pro series. It is filled with answers to questions like yours.
