Forum Thread: Upgrade Kali Linux 2018.1

Hi, I tried to update kali linux 2017.3 to the new version 2018.1 but I can not. I used this command: apt update && apt full-upgrade.

Would anyone know how to help me?

From what it looks like, that command updates all your programs to the versions that 2018.1 has, but does not actually turn your OS to it. To use 2018.1 you will need to reinstall kali, though I do not believe that it's nessessary unless you need to take advantage of the new kernel features.
