I just ran a scan with zenmap on a random ip i found somewhere.
Then , the Topology showed me this :

Im curious why there are so many.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but the topology feature also shows the trace route. So if there is alot of machines you have to bounce through than this page would be fuller.
