I Cant Control the Brightness on Kali Linux After Fresh Install

so my laptop is not powerful enough ,i tried to run the latest kali rolling it lags alot but the brightness worked fine so i decided to install an older version of kali , everything worked fine except for the brightness i cant find the settings to reduce it.i tried several methods xbacklight, xrandr nothing worked , i am installing kali linux 1.1.0 64bit
