Hack Network via Wifi Enabled PC

Feb 22, 2016 01:42 AM

Hello friends,

I'm new to the world of Null Byte.

I'd like to start by firstly thanking everyone here that writes and contributes to the community. I've learnt a lot and can only hope that one day I'll be able to contribute my own knowledge.

My question to you now is, is it (and if so, how is it) possible to gain access to a network via a wifi enabled pc (such as a laptop) that is connected to the LAN via ethernet?

I ask because we have a number of PCs in our environment that fit this circumstance and I'd like to know how a hacker may exploit our network from this. Of course I could simply disable all the wifi adapters through a script which would reduce the security risk, but I'd like to understand how it would be done, rather than just how to fix it.

I'd appreciate anyone who could point me in the right direction. I don't want to be spoon fed, just shown the starting steps.

Thank you
