I believe Elliot was using cupp. No need to create a new password cracker.
He uses a password cracker that he created, called ELPSCRK. (ELliot's PaSsword CRacKer)
thanks much PHOENIX750, yeah, looks suspiciously like pyrit but isn't pyrit used to crack wpa encryption by breaking the handshake?. I will try to read up on pyrit though...and your article. be safe
"Pyrit allows to create massive databases, pre-computing part of the IEEE 802.11 WPA/WPA2-PSK authentication phase in a space-time-tradeoff. Exploiting the computational power of Many-Core- and other platforms through ATI-Stream, Nvidia CUDA and OpenCL, it is currently by far the most powerful attack against one of the world's most used security-protocols."
copy that, so its for wpa/wpa2 encryption. thank you sir.
why the 'ell would anyone want to recreate the wheel and build a "password cracker". Ten seconds of googling would save ten thousan pains of failure.
BTW, the cracker used in is john the ripper. They basically are playing around with Backtrack.
thank you, not to recreate the wheel, I was not sure what it was, I thought it was python but again, thank you
Even though this may be late, I believe he was using just a tool for show. And yes it was written in python. Please search "elpsrk" for more info.
yeah had fun with "elpscrk"
Hello is this elpscrk real??
