I'm going to set up an old windows 7 'craptop' as a NAS server on my home network..
Now what are the possibilities that I could take advantage of while hacking and cracking passwords ?
Is it possible to keep my pyrit database on the home server to improve the speed of batch processing and password cracking ?
If not , then what could I use it for other than just a plain old media server for movies,pics,files,... ?
Thanks in advance !

Instead of setting up a NAS If you got another and installed Arch Linux you could run a cluster to increase decryption speed. I believe Pyrit has good function for cluster decryption, do correct me if im wrong.
Agreed. I would opt for a NAS myself cause Kali dies custom stuff dies too. I would also use it to access files from home in the wild thru a black hole.
