Port-Forwarding Through Vpn?

I've been trying to setup port forwarding on my router but couldn't get it to work. After some research i found i could port forward through my VPN. I currently use Private internet Access with openvpn on my kali 2.0 linux machine. Anyone have any idea how to set up port forwarding with this.
