Using Metasploit Reverse Shell Outside LAN

I was able to use both Android and Windows Reverse Shell Payloads on devices which were in the same Network(LAN). I recently discovered that devices outside the LAN which use different Gateways to access internet doesn't work with this. I want to know how to configure the Payload to work in such condition.

I currently use my mobile Hotspot to access internet on Kali(Data Limit reached on Router :3). And Kali runs in a VM under Windows.
