I would get one of the R9 cards, Not knowing what coinage you are trying to spend. Maybe a R9 290x OC II or a 390x.

The one I always point my custom build customers at is the 290x OC II because it will hash like no other GPU and if you wanna try out BTC (please don't) The R9s are champions. AMD handle what we do better than Nvidia.

The last AMD I installed was the 290x overclocked ddr5 beast. It was 800$ then. Now it's affordable.

Gamer box = Hacker Box . Same gear needed.

290x is that radeon or?

You can check some benchmarks for some games and see what fits your budget. I strongly advise you not to buy anything beyond 350€.

Furthermore you should be able to use any gpu on your motherboard.
