Forum Thread: Rooted Android FM Hack

I was wondering if there was some way to hack the FM Radio of my rooted android device to bypass the restrictions of frequency range of 87.5 to 108 MHz to 'listen in' on other radio transmissions and convert it into a super cool Radioscanner !! :D

Searching on the web, I found this app :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2402380
but have no idea how to set it up.
I would be glad if someone could help.

PS: Spare me if the question seems off-topic, but I genuinely believe this is the community where I am likely to find people sharing my interests.

  1. Download the app (preferably on the device)
  2. Go to Settings --> Security --> check Unknown source and Verify app
  3. Run the .apk by either an automatic pop-up, or browsing your files
  4. Press install

This is the same process for installing all apps off of Google Play.

Ok, Reading from the link you provided.

  1. Your phone must be rooted
  2. Must have a root browser installed
  3. If you are on a Jellybean Touchwiz ROM, download the FmRadio file and rename to FmRadio.apk.

If you are on a KitKat Touchwiz ROM, download the HybridRadio file and rename to HybridRadio.apk.

  1. Add the following line to your system/csc/feature.xml

<CscFeature_FMRadio_BandWidthAs>76000_108000</CscFeature_FMRadio_BandWidthAs>

  1. Restart your phone
  2. That should do it! You can now tune to bands below 87.5!

I haven't tried it yet but the instructions seems easy and promising. All it requires is rooted phone and a root browser.

( This should be Kuul )

Before going in the insights about how to settle this issue, we should investigate a portion of the actualities of the most well known error program over the globe. Chrome is certainly generally utilized and the reason is notable.
