when i tried to open cap file to see captured handshake it shows failed to open what should i do please someone help me?

Did you check if u have saved the cap file in the root directory.Because aircrack cannot find the file specified .And if it is there , cross check if u have given the correct name of the file in the command . Do ls and see if the file is there or not.
