Ahaha I saw this online, earlier. I think that it's right, cheating is wrong :P But yeah you're right

Wonder what techniques were used to hack this site :). Because I strongly believe at least at the core it is very secure.

probably a hidden domain name that was vulnerable, and they pivoted from there. perhaps the vulnerable hidden sub-domain was linked to an Admin's PC that runned WinXP perhaps?

you wouldn't even need a 0day for a hack like this. most hackers that are in this industry for 2 years can easily do it.

take note that it is just an estimation on how i think they got in. they could've used different techniques too.

So you think that intruders just found some more vulnarable sites on the same host (put on sub-domains, related to the main site)? This is just awful security flaw...

That's why I always go by the moniker, "Rusty Shackleford" .... (anyone? anyone catch that reference?)

I've found their manifesto on pastebin, do not know for sure if its real but its enjoyable to read:

"Our one apology is to Mark Steele (Director of Security). You did everything you could, but nothing you could have done could have stopped this."

I wonder if this has any connection to the Adult Friend Finder data dump a few months ago?

That was a single hacker whereas this is purportedly a team. And it seemed like the AFF hacker had a personal beef with the site, but it's weird that all these similar sites have been hacked in such close proximity.

Now that's an Ethical hacking :-D
