Forum Thread: How Can I Fix "Bash 'Export, Command Not Found at the Top of Every Terminal?

hi im kinda new here and was trying to install node.js and i was following an internet tutorial and typed in "echo 'export PATH=$HOME/local/bin:$PATH' >> ~/.bashrc"

ever since i typed that in my terminal has been giving me that error. does anybody have a solution to this?
