Privilege Escalation on Linux

Hello there,

Let's say i have managed too get a shell on a remote linux server but i'm not permitted to do much (like running wget,curl,apt-get, and ...).

So how can i get root acces?

should i have the script on the target?

no. it's basically just a list of what you can do to the target, it doesn't execute anything.

ok, will give it a try. Thanks a lot for the info!

Well, i have found a suitable exploit, but how should i download it to the target server? (can't use wget).

you should try wgetting it on the target. you should have permission as a normal user to use wget in a non-root directory.

Wget ain't the only method of downloading, Is python installed , Is ruby installed, Can you connect to the web ? This is where the creativity sets in :)
