Forum Thread: Metasploit Use Domain Name as RHOST

In Metasploit, there's an auxilary module that detects joomla version and it requires RHOST. Is it possible to set RHOST to http://example.com? It flags an error when I do that. So how can i pass the domain name as rhost?

Why use a domain and not an IP? Simply get the IP of the domain and use that in RHOST.

If you use a domain name instead a Static IP address you can change from IP anytime and the only thing you need is change the DNS record that you bought.

Try pinging the domain and using the IP you get.

Bro it's not possible as it's ip says 404 error but the domain working may be it's set to virtual hosting please help me to use domain
