does anyone one no how to root a router a home router that runs busybox with read only privileges?? how do I go from read only to root?? i no you would have to get root exploit on there, but I don't understand how? i mean wget but than i would have to compile it which seems like its not possible to do....or how to nano so I can just write my own shelll??? i don't understand how to this point???so i guess my question is how to root a router??

Each router and method of obtaining root on them is different. There is no catch-all answer. Look for exploits on the config panel(with burp or something). Look for exploits on any other running services(nmap scan to see what it's running and hopefully the versions of the servers).

If you have physical access, just crack that bad larry open and look for a serial port.

ssh access is possible but there is only read privleges and i can't wget cause when i do i don't have gcc to compile anything
