Forum Thread: Can't Get Packages on Kali VMware

I'm using kali linux on vmware workstation 14.
I've installed vmware tools.
I also can use a metasploit listener for a meterpreter payload ove WAN sucsesfully so my connection has no problem.
buy I can not get lib files and updates using the apt commands. for example the hostapd for wifiphisher.

here is the message i get

root@kali:~/wifiphisher-1.1# python wifiphisher.py
* hostapd not found in /usr/sbin/hostapd, install now? y/n y

E: Unable to locate package hostapd

This process requires a persistent internet connection!
