Go the linux basics section on the website and dive in you have to have as well a knowledge of the basic networking concepts like IP addresses, MAC addresses ,DNS, reverse DNS, and a lot more .the more you know about networking the better you would become as a hacker .hacking is all about networking usually you would be attacking a remote system over the internet and there are many phases you have to go through to get control over the system like reconnaissance phase which has too much dependence on you networking knowledge because usually you will be using tools like NMAP and others for network reconnaissance and footprinting
